Sjeel Egberink
Sjeel is a dutch Speech- and Language therapist who graduated at the University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle with a Bachelor in Speech and Language Therapy. As part of her study Sjeel spent full four months in Phnom Penh, where she tested the hearing of children at a community center, run by a dutch NGO. At the same center Sjeel taught English classes as well, which she enjoyed fully.
During this time she also volunteered at an orphanage for disabled children.
After graduating she worked as a speech therapist for a private clinic based in a primary school, where her main focus was on children with speech fluency and/or language development difficulties. Creating a safe space, where children can express themselves each in their own way is of great importance to her.
During the sessions Sjeel tries to achieve this by teaching in a fun and playfull way, always letting the interests and needs of the child come first in order to reach set goals.
