Damaris Fame Diputado
Damaris is an occupational therapist with 3 years of experience working with both paediatric and adult clients. She finished her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Cebu Doctor’s University in Cebu City, Philippines. She worked as a volunteer in a private adult and paediatric therapy centre shortly before obtaining her license from the Philippine board for occupational therapists.
Throughout her career, she has been working with children and adults with special needs and older adults with disabilities. Besides helping the client directly she also pays much time and dedication to instruction and working closely with parents, educators and other professionals who are involved in the client’s care. Since the day Damaris has finished her bachelors degree she has continuously attended seminars and trainings to keep her professional knowledge and skill-set up to date to todays latest treatments.
Damaris moved to Cambodia by the end of 2020 and continued her occupational therapy practice through a private paediatric clinic serving local and expat families before finally joining the Physiotherapy Phnom Penh team.
Her role as an occupational therapist involves maximising potential and promoting independence in different daily activities by establishing age-appropriate skills and abilities, addressing behavioural and sensory processing difficulties, parent or caregiver training and education, and using rehabilitative and compensatory approaches based on the client’s unique individual needs. This allows clients to thrive and become successful in different settings and situations regardless of their condition or disability!
